Two ways to explore underground
Choose your caving experience
Discover two very different ways to explore the underground world. Venture into the aquatic cave of the Túnel del Sumidor de Vallada or explore Cova Fosca, in the Serra de Segària, through chambers, narrow passages and abseils. Choose the experience that appeals to you most and get ready to discover everything that lies beneath the surface.
Choose according to the experience you’re looking for
Which caving experience is right for you?
Both activities allow you to discover the underground world, but they offer very different experiences. Your choice will depend on whether you prefer an aquatic adventure or a more vertical route with abseils and narrow passages.
Choose Túnel del Sumidor if…
You’re drawn to an aquatic experience, want to make your way through a cave shaped by water and don’t mind getting wet along the way. It’s an ideal activity for discovering a different kind of caving, equipped with a wetsuit and technical gear.
Choose Cova Fosca if…
You prefer a more vertical and technical experience, with abseils, underground chambers and narrow passages. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a dry caving activity with a greater focus on rope-assisted progression.

What is caving?
Caving involves exploring natural caves and making your way through underground passages and chambers. Depending on the cave, the route may involve walking over uneven terrain, negotiating changes in elevation, abseiling, passing through narrow sections or progressing through areas with water.
At Alicante Aventura, you’ll find guided experiences designed to help you discover this environment progressively and safely, with activities suited to different ages and the characteristics of each route.
Preparation and guidance
Equipment and safety during caving activities
Each activity requires specific equipment depending on the type of cave and the route. Before starting, the instructor explains how to use the equipment and accompanies the group throughout the entire activity.
Technical equipment
Alicante Aventura provides the technical equipment required for each activity. Depending on the route, this may include a helmet, harness, progression equipment and a wetsuit for aquatic caving experiences.
Instructors throughout the route
Before entering the cave, you’ll receive the instructions you need to tackle the different sections of the route. During the activity, the instructor accompanies the group, supervises your progress and explains how to negotiate each section safely and correctly.
An adventure in another world
An underground experience unlike other adventure activities
Caving means venturing into an environment that normally remains hidden from view. As you make your way through a cave, the daylight disappears and the landscape changes completely: passages, chambers, rocky sections and formations slowly shaped over thousands of years become the setting for your adventure.

Here, the adventure isn’t simply about completing a route. It’s also about observing, exploring and discovering the inside of the mountain, using your headlamp to illuminate places you would never imagine existed from the surface.
Each cave also offers a different experience. In some, water has shaped much of the route; in others, abseils, changes in elevation and passages between rock formations play a greater role. This variety is precisely one of the things that makes caving so different from other outdoor adventure activities.
