Before you start
Equipment, preparation and safety
To enjoy a via ferrata safely, it is important to use the right equipment, understand the characteristics of the route and be properly prepared for its level of difficulty.
Technical equipment included
Alicante Aventura provides the technical equipment required for the activity and explains how to use it before you start.
- Protective helmet.
- Harness.
- Via ferrata lanyard with energy absorber.
- Support from a qualified guide.
- Accident and Public Liability Insurance.
What you should bring
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for the season and bring everything you need to stay hydrated throughout the route.
- Sports or hiking footwear with good support.
- Cycling-style gloves, recommended to protect your hands.
- Small backpack.
- Sun protection depending on the time of year.
- At least 1.5 litres of water.
- Something light to eat, such as fruit or a small snack.
Preparation and safety
Choose a via ferrata suited to your experience and fitness level. During the activity, you must follow the guide’s instructions at all times.

How does the activity work?
Our guides will accompany you from the initial meeting to the end of the route, explaining how to use the equipment and helping you progress safely along the via ferrata.

Meeting your guide
We’ll meet at the meeting point indicated on the activity page. There, you’ll meet your guide and the rest of the group before starting.

Preparation and briefing
The guide will provide and adjust the equipment, check that everything is correctly fitted and explain the safety rules and basic progression techniques.

Progressing along the via ferrata
You’ll complete the route accompanied by the guide, tackling the vertical sections, traverses, bridges, zip lines or rappels included in your chosen itinerary.

End of the route
Once the route is complete, we’ll follow the planned return for each itinerary and return the equipment. Photos from the activity will be sent afterwards via a link.
Remember to arrive early: we recommend being at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time so the activity can start without delays.
