L’Estret canyon, one of the simplest but most beautiful water canyons in the province of Alicante!
The Relleu-Orxeta canyon, also known as Estret del Pantá and canyon of the river Amadorio, is undoubtedly one of the most simple but beautiful water ravines in the province of Alicante, thanks to its narrow and high walls.
Furthermore, the town of Orxeta, where the canyon is located, is very close to both Benidorm and Villajoyosa. To get there, all you have to do is head towards the Amadorio reservoir via the A-7, taking a couple of signposted secondary roads to reach Orxeta.
Stop dreaming of going there and make your dream come true. With Alicante Aventura and its guides you have a unique opportunity to safely and enjoyably jump through the Estret de Relleu ravine.
The Estret de Relleu Ravine
Ideal for water canyoning once the rainy season has passed, as the rainfall will help to clean the canyon to leave it impeccable and allow a surprising itinerary; it is a very horizontal canyon, with many pools, so it is recommended to be in very good condition as there is a lot of swimming.
The old Amadorio reservoir, now dry, will lead us to the famous 18th century dam, where we will find a first 20-metre steep abseil. The route then takes us to a second 10-metre abseil, which is more vertical and takes us into the ravine itself.
It is a cold water canyon, which creates the sensation of being boxed in and is quite long. There are some very good abseiling routes, as well as horizontal sections that are not too difficult.
Depending on the group and their physical condition, it can take a few hours to go through the canyon, which makes it an ideal activity to do from early morning until almost midday.
The return from the last pools of the Estret del Relleu ravine to the car park is simple: follow the river bed until you find one of the bridges, climb onto it and walk to the vehicles.
