Along the way, we will sail alongside the majestic cliffs of the Punta de Moraira, enjoying breathtaking views of the historic Torre del Cap d’Or and – conditions permitting – entering the mysterious Cova de les Rates Penades, a sea cave that hides legends and secrets inside.

Along the way you will discover old fishermen’s huts carved into the rock, silent witnesses of a past where smugglers, pirates and sailors found refuge on this rugged coast.

The experience culminates at Cala Llebeig, a natural jewel that is difficult to access by land, where we will stop to relax, jump into the sea, snorkel in crystal clear waters and recharge our batteries surrounded by unspoilt nature and a history as rich as the landscape.

The Cova de les Rates Penades at a glance…

This cave formed by erosion, as the waves sculpted the limestone rock of Cap d’Or. There are two entrances above sea level and two large chambers inside. Access is only possible by sea.

It was declared a WILDLIFE RESERVE by the Regional Environmental and Housing Ministry in Valencia in 2004. It provides shelter and is a breeding ground for bats: rates penades (Chiroptera). The main bat species found here are the Cave Bat and Natterer’s Bat.

It is important to stay away from the cave between April and August, when these sensitive animals are breeding.

It is also an archaeological site dating to the Bronze Age and Iberian Era.
